<\/span>The Heidelberg Center for American Studies (HCA) invites applications for its annual Spring
\n<\/span>Academy on <\/span> American Culture, Economics, Geography, History, Literature, Politics, and
\n<\/span>Religion<\/span> to be held <\/span>from March 21<\/span>–<\/span>25, 2022. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/span>present and thoroughly discuss their Ph.D. proj<\/span>ects. Additionally, it offers workshops held by
\n<\/span>visiting scholars. <\/span> <\/span>
<\/span>We encourage applications that range broadly across the arts, humanities, and social
\n<\/span>sciences and pursue an interdisciplinary approach. Participants can present papers on any
\n<\/span>subject rela<\/span>ting to the study of the United States of America. Possible topics include American
\n<\/span>identity, issues of ethnicity, gender, transatlantic relations, U.S. domestic and foreign policy,
\n<\/span>economics, and various aspects of American history, literature, religion, <\/span> geography, law,
\n<\/span>musicology, and culture. The accepted projects will be arranged into ten panel groups.<\/span> <\/span>
<\/span>Participants are requested to prepare a 20<\/span>–<\/span>minute presentation of their research project,
\nwhich <\/span>will be followed by a 40<\/span>–<\/span>minute discussion. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
